A very normal workday

After a big goof up taking the wrong direction train I reached my station close to work 2 hours late!!
As soon as I got out the train...this is what I saw

The sight of water, sound of waves as the rowers paddle away, smell of fresh air and lucious greenery just melted my stress away. Nothing was more pleasant to my senses than this. Thank you god for sending me such a beautiful day. I couldn't stop myself from sitting there for 10 mins admiring nature....I was 2 hours 10 mins late to work no biggie:-)

My little teacher

The art of balancing work and home and parenthood is as difficult as one makes it to be. Iam not saying its easy. All iam saying is its enjoyable. It is definately energy and time consuming but its not bad if you have fun with it. When lil S was born i was so paranoid about how i was going to work , cook clean and take care of an infant. Ofcourse my husband was going to pitch in...but how was a big question in my mind. Now i know that what got to be done has to be done and it will fall in its place after a lil chaos or lots of chaos in my case. Today after lil s is almost 3 i sometimes think of having another baby.
A good friend asked me "really? really ?"
I said yes for real . She said "do you want all that chaos and sleepless nights and stress and all that!".
i said no i dont wish all that but now i know what most couples without kids dont know...that its all WORTH every minute . Because Children bring you the joy happiness, teach you the most important lessons in life that no school or prestigious college can teach you. Motherhood is great is an understatement.I value the smallest things in life.

I have always loved nature but i truly appreciate
Its beauty even more now . You ask how? My son gets excited
When he sees a pink tree or a red tree.. Its spring and trees are full of flowers and they are the same trees which i used to catch a glimpse and say wow, when i walked by. But now ots OMG its beautiful. Lil S tought me to enjoy 5 mins in the morning watering my plants calling out to birds and feeding them. Its for him i bought back all my interest to nurture a garden in my balcony.
I do crafts with him ... We paint, draw.. Go to parks in all odd hrs just to enjoy sunshine while we have.

I take long walks with him and my husband ..FYI: Both of us gave up on walking thanks to our busy careers. I appreciate our family time and thank god more often to this wonderful child who teaches us to live life every min-NO every second:-)

Favourite things

Big Cars and motorbikes
Noises alike
Legos and Robot
built and destroyed
Singing to words and
infectious rhymes

These are a few of HIS
Favourite things

Joy to see strawberry
colors of tulips
Hugging lil babies
and dancing arround them
Upset on lil things
and cranky for no reason

Oh this is my lil S
and my Favourite toy

laughing and smiling
Talking sweet nothings
gazing at stars and
dancing to nothing
Mcqueen and chick hick
your car addition

Oh these are a few of
lis S favourite things

Curry leaf plant

My fascination for curry plant started just few months back. Being a south Indian curry leaf is not a stranger to me. I have seen it in almost all food recipes made at home and every relative I visited in south India.
It has no specific taste but it does add a special aroma to any south Indian food preparation. Last few months I have been diligently researching about herbs and home remedies for growing healthy hair. Not to my surprise, just like old tales I have heard from my parents and grand parents, curry leaf is most sorted herb in aurvedic medicines for hair fall/loss.
Well then ...my next step was to find out how I could grow them at home. I wasn't sure given the extreme temp I live in if the plant could survive.
Like every thing has a way to enter in your life when you ask for them...I saw a curry plant in my tax consultants house. They have been growing their plant for 25 years and indoors!! After a quick lesson about how to take care water grow etc... The proud owner promised me a cutting my next visit as it was late in the evening and she did not want to disturb her plant:-)

Curry leaf is also called karrivepallai in Tamil. Karri=curry vepala=neem ellai=leaf.
It's botanical name is Murraya koenigii

I will post you a picture of my curry plant when it reaches home. Till then enjoy these pics from the net.
Grandmas stories: curry leaf eaten first thing in the morning in empty stomach (raw) helps stop hair fall! No scientific basis to this...but yeah what's wrong in trying out:-)

Terrible two

As you craft words to sentences
Your baby language
rings music to my ears.
Your Late night wake ups
Your temper tantrums.
Watch out kekadruma is on a war
He is fighting terrible twos
He is taking it to another level
It's even worse than trying threes
Or freaking fours!!
It's a new 2 where he sings, dances to music
His parents to his tune!

Appreciation

As I was browsing I read an interesting article by Diane about inviting pleasures in our lives.
The first and foremost is appreciating. To appreciate whats happening at the moment or in the day.
Appreciation
It rained and snowed, I had to take a day off and stay with my lil S. I appreciate mother natures gift to me .while the world is annoyed with her for bad commute/weather etc...I have been blessed to enjoy sweet nothings from my lil S. He sang for me, played with me read books, slept hugging me. Oh what a day. Thank you mother nature!I appreciate all the abundance you have brought in my life.

Thank you for bringing the biggest joy in my life my lil S.

The weight loss tamasha!

It's been 2 weeks into new year and my battle to weight loss is still going on.
Every single day I have been Reading articles on correct diet, exercise regime, to do lists etc. The frustration builds up as I don't find time to do anything. I have a relative at home that's leaving tomorrow. So tomorrow is my day to start with my south beach diet.
Frankly it's the only diet that let's me eat all the time while I shed pounds I did that right after lil S was born and lost all belly fat. Ofcourse I didn't continue and added lots and lots of pounds on my trip to India and it's been a story /tamasha about weight loss again.

I started this abs crunch set of exercises that was published in prevention magazine. It has a routine that one needs to follow and I will update my weight loss in a weeks time.
Wish me luck:-)

Introducing Kekadruma

Kekadhruma what who?? my husband when half asleep trying to tell a story to lil S named an aligator " Kekadhruma" Lil S calls his alligator " Keka druma". We wanted the alligator to be the bad guy in the story...however Lil S loves Kekadruma to bits and now in my mind Lil S is our Kekadruma.
So now Kekadruma is this sweet aligator who in our stories every night tells Lil S things we want him to know. Drinking from Sippy Cup, POOPY in the potty, using crayons on paper and not on walls..etc and etc. This somehow happens to be our fav character in our house. We recently bought an alligator from IKEA and Lil S loves his kekadruma and takes him to bed ...reads him books and wakes him up and says bye when he goes to school. In the original story the good boy elephant was named "Sushendra" after lil S . Lil S likes his elephant "Susindra"too . He digged out an elephant soft toy from his toy box and now Sushindraand Kekadruma both lay next to My lil S Our own" Kakadruma"
